Is it safe for my cat?
Yes. Every surface that touches the water, both the drinking tray and the reservoir, is food-grade 304 stainless steel, and all materials are BPA-free. AquaSense runs on a low-voltage rechargeable battery, so there are no power cables near the water while it's running. It's safe for cats and dogs of all ages.
How often should I clean the fountain?
We recommend a full clean once a week: take the fountain apart, wash the steel tray and reservoir, and wipe the sensor area. Once a month, give the pump a deeper rinse to remove any hair or debris that could affect the water flow.
How often do I need to replace the filter?
Every 2–4 weeks, depending on your water quality and how many pets drink from it. If your tap water is hard or heavily chlorinated, change it closer to every 2 weeks. Regular replacement keeps the activated carbon filter working at its best and the water tasting fresh.
How long does the battery last, and how do I charge it?
AquaSense has a 4000mAh battery. A single charge lasts up to 45 days, thanks to the motion sensor that only turns the fountain on when your cat comes to drink. To recharge it, just connect the included 1-meter USB cable to any standard USB power source.
Can I use tap water, or does it need to be filtered?
Tap water works fine. If your tap water is very hard or heavily chlorinated, using filtered water can extend the life of the filter and reduce mineral buildup, but it's not required.
Is it noisy? Will it disturb my cat at night?
No. The pump runs at just 25 dB, quieter than a whisper, and it switches off automatically when no one is drinking. It's ideal for nervous or sound-sensitive pets and won't disturb anyone's sleep.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Yes. The stainless steel tray and reservoir are dishwasher-safe, so cleaning takes just a few minutes. The pump and electronic parts should only be rinsed by hand.
Can multiple cats or pets use it?
Yes. The 4L (135 oz) capacity makes it perfect for multi-pet homes, and the infrared motion sensor detects movement from up to 2 meters (6.5 ft) away at a 150° angle, so it turns on no matter which pet approaches.
What if my cat doesn't drink from it right away?
That's completely normal. Some cats need a few days to get used to moving water. Place the fountain in your cat's usual drinking spot and keep their old bowl nearby during the transition. Most cats start using it on their own within the first week.
What if the fountain makes an unusual noise or stops working?
This is usually caused by a low water level or air trapped in the pump. Refill the reservoir and restart the fountain. Easy to put together and surprisingly quiet. Worth it.
